Superior adult day center offering older adults companionship, enrichment, and a sense of belonging... day by day

About Us

Julia Ruth House Founders The Julia Ruth House was founded by Julia and Herbert Irvine in memory of their parents, Thomas and Ruth Irvine and Charles and Julia O’Malia. With help from their family, Julia and Herb assisted their parents in overcoming many of the obstacles they faced during their senior years. Through this experience, the Irvine’s understood the need for a home-based day care center for adults who are in need of some daily support, but who do not require a nursing home. Born of this realization, The Julia Ruth House is the first home-based Adult Day Care Center in a residential setting in Massachusetts.

The Staff

Our team of professionals is experienced in the field of geriatrics. They foster an environment of caring, compassion and respect that shapes all of the programs we offer.

Our Program

Our senior day program is designed to meet the educational, physical, social, and personal needs of each participant. We honor the dignity of our guests by recognizing their individual needs and offering services to meet those needs. Our programs are also flexible, all of which are tailored to the talents and interests of our guests. Our activities range from exercise, gardening and reading to music appreciation and movies. We are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We offer breakfast, lunch and afternoon refreshments.

Transportation

We do not provide transportation, so the families of our guests must arrange all transportation to and from the facility.

Our Guests

The Julia Ruth House welcomes guests of all faiths, races and cultures. Our guests are age 50 or over and have a variety of physical, cognitive or mental health needs. Many of them feel lonely at home and welcome the enrichment and stimulation our program provides. In addition, our program offers spouses and families a needed break from the demands of caring for older loved ones.

Program Fees

Our program fees enable us to offer the wide range of services and programming that we provide. A minimum of two days a week is required to attend the center. Payment is due the first day of the week. All payments are private pay, unless the guest has long-term care insurance which we accept. Our services are not covered by health insurance. Please contact us at 781-251-3393 for details on our current day care center rates or your insurance coverage.
